Step into one of the most legendary acoustic collaboration sessions of the 1970s with Norman Blake / Tut Taylor / Sam Bush / Butch Robins / Vassar Clements / David Holland / Jethro Burns, released in 1975 on Flying Fish Records (Catalog No. HDS 701). Produced by dobro master Tut Taylor, this album gathered an unprecedented ensemble of acoustic music royalty for an uninhibited, virtuosic recording session in Nashville.

Combining Norman Blake’s flatpicking guitar, Sam Bush’s driving mandolin, Vassar Clements’ improvisational “hillbilly jazz” fiddling, Tut Taylor’s flatpicked dobro, Butch Robins’ banjo, Jethro Burns’ legendary jazz mandolin, and avant-garde jazz bassist Dave Holland, this release pushed the boundaries of traditional bluegrass into dynamic new territory.
