Description

Step into the revolutionary heart of early 1970s Greenwich Village with John Lennon & Yoko Ono / Plastic Ono Band with Elephant’s Memory – Some Time in New York City, released in 1972 on Apple Records (Catalog No. SVBB 3392). Packaged in a famous gatefold designed to look like a front-page broadsheet newspaper, this landmark release captured Lennon and Ono addressing the volatile headlines, protests, and cultural shifts of the era.
Co-produced with Phil Spector, the first record delivers hard-edged street rock and raw social commentary backed by New York underground legends Elephant’s Memory. The second record—dubbed Live Jam—documents monumental onstage collaborations, pairing Lennon and Ono with an all-star lineup including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Keith Moon, and Billy Preston in London (1969), alongside an electrifying 1971 midnight jam at the Fillmore East with Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention.
